1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to information we collect through the website at renewyourrecipe.com, our newsletters, any future paid memberships, any future web applications or tools we publish under Renew Your Recipe, and any related communication channels (collectively, the “Services”)
It does not apply to information collected by third parties whose websites or services we link to, even when those links appear on our Services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies

3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- Account information when you register, such as email address, display name, and authentication credentials managed by our identity provider
- Subscription information when paid memberships launch, such as your plan, billing status, and renewal information (we do not store full payment card numbers; that is handled by our payment processor)
- Content you submit, such as comments, contact-form messages, survey responses, or content you post to community features
- Optional preferences, including dietary preferences, wellness goals, content interests, and similar self-reported data you choose to share to personalize your experience
- Communications you send us, including emails and attachments
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Log data such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, links clicked, and request timestamps
- Device data such as device type, screen size, and language preferences
- Usage data such as pages visited, time on page, scroll depth, and similar interaction signals
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 5
3.3 Information from third parties
- Authentication providers such as Google or Apple, if you use single sign-on. We receive only the limited profile data the provider returns
- Payment processors such as Stripe, which return non-sensitive billing metadata (e.g., last four digits of card, country, plan status) but never the full card number
- Analytics providers, which return aggregated and mostly de-identified usage signals
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services
- Manage your account, authenticate you, and process subscriptions when applicable
- Personalize content, recommendations, and the experience of the Services
- Communicate with you about updates, transactional matters, and (with your consent or where permitted) marketing
- Measure and improve performance and content quality
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms
- Comply with legal obligations, defend legal claims, and enforce our agreements
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary— to authenticate you, secure sessions, and remember preferences you have explicitly set
- Functional— to remember non-essential settings such as theme or language
- Analytics— to measure how the Services are used in aggregate
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required. We do not currently use cookies for cross-site advertising
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers who process information on our behalf under written agreements that limit their use of the information (e.g., hosting, authentication, payment processing, analytics, email delivery)
- Legal and safety— when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Services
- Business transfers— in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to customary confidentiality protections
- With your consent— for any other sharing you have explicitly approved
7. AI training and content scraping
We do not authorize third parties to use our content, your submissions, or any information collected through the Services to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, including large language models, without our prior written consent
We use technical signals such as robots.txt directives and platform-specific opt-out mechanisms where they exist to communicate this preference to AI crawlers. Bypassing these signals, or scraping the Services for AI training in violation of our Terms, is prohibited
8. Health and wellness data
When you voluntarily share dietary preferences, allergens, wellness goals, or other health-related information to personalize your experience, we treat that information as sensitive and apply the access controls and retention practices described in this policy. Where state laws such as the Washington My Health My Data Act, the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, or the Connecticut Data Privacy Act apply, we comply with their additional requirements
9. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@renewyourrecipe.com and we will delete it. Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we apply the same protections to users under 16
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to opt out of any sale or targeted-advertising processing (we do neither). To exercise any right, email info@renewyourrecipe.com from the address associated with your account or otherwise verify your identity as we may reasonably request

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
You can submit a verifiable consumer request by emailing info@renewyourrecipe.com. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf
12. EU and UK rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent UK and Swiss law. These include rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, portability, and withdrawal of consent
The legal bases on which we rely to process your information include: performance of a contract (account and subscription management), legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the Services), legal obligation (compliance), and consent (where required, such as some marketing communications)
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country

14. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we either delete it or de-identify it. Backups may retain information for limited additional periods until they cycle out
15. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit using TLS, encryption at rest where supported by our providers, access controls, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify affected users of a security incident as required by applicable law
16. International transfers
We are based in the United States and may transfer, store, and process information in the United States or other countries that may have data-protection laws that differ from your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms such as the Standard Contractual Clauses
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the policy and, for material changes, will provide a more prominent notice (such as email or an in-product notice). Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy
